let the camping begin!

Tomorrow morning, I’ll have the front axle of my car worked on (eek!) because of a torn boot, and then we’ll head out to Oregon. We’ll drive and camp in the areas of: Albuquerque, NM; Flagstaff, AZ; Salt Lake City, UT; Twin Falls, Idaho; and Eugene, OR. On Wednesday and Thursday, we’ll join the Lost Valley community for their monthly visitor days and interview some of their residents, including their founder, Dianne Brause!
We have our itinerary and map online.

    A while a go a have the weirdest dream while camping. It was a really cold night is south carolina, I did not had a fancy tent like yours, just a half decent sleeping bag. I was camping in Santee South, Carolina, around late January last Year.

    I remember the temperature drop really bad that night, and the wind was so strong that was bending my tent almost all the way to my face. Since I did not had another place to stay, I just confronted the situation and contend my self from 100 to 0, and went to sleep. This a technique I learn from a class I took; the Sylva Method. I have practice it with great success for several years, while traveling specially.

    I started to dream about the wind naturally, In my dream could see my self sleeping inside bending tent. I knew that I was dreaming, I had lucid dreams before, when I was a child I watch a lot of horror movies, an used to have nightmares all the time, but when I saw nightmare on elm street I realize that I control my nightmares just like the kids in the movie. Ever since I been able to become aware of my dreaming state.

    While dreaming I felt the wind coming inside my tent, it grabbed me by the ankles and and pull me outside the tent. My body went through the sleeping bag, and through the tent fabrics as if i was made of air too. I got scared like never before, and I knew I was dreaming. The wind picks me up to the sky, hanging up side down, going a great speed, a started screaming it, just a dream, its just a dream, its just a dream, I probably scream 100 times, before I felt I was being released. I flew away and then wake up.

    So the journey begins -

    May the road rise to meet you,
    May the wind be always at your back.
    May the sun shine warm upon your face,
    The rains fall soft upon your fields.
    And until we meet again,
    May God hold you in the palm of his hand.

    (Traditional Celtic prayer)
